In the village, we still find traditional blue-and-white houses wrapped in reeds, guesthouses serving Delta cuisine, and sandy streets. A walk through the forest usually takes place in a horse-drawn carriage driven by locals.

Over 3,500 species of very rare plants and animals can be found here, which the Letea Forest provides an ideal habitat for.

Since 1930, half of the Letea Forest has been designated as strictly protected areas, and 500 hectares of the Hasmacul Mare area have been a nature reserve since 1938.
