The Piatra Craiului Massif (Königstein) was designated a nature reserve in 1938 due to its uniqueness, scenic beauty, and rare species such as the endemic Garofita Pietrei Craiului (Dianthus callizonus), edelweiss (Leontopodium), and the black Nigritella nigra and red Nigritella rubra. On this seven-day tour, we’ll traverse the main ridge of what is arguably Romania’s most beautiful mountain range and climb its highest peak, La Om (2,242 m). Accommodations are in guesthouses and bed-and-breakfasts.
